I find it interesting that Walt mentions that he didn't "reuse characters." Was that really true? Off the top of my head, I can think of Hannah's No Hunting, where Bambi and his mother briefly appear. The latter seemed awfully lacking in most of the shorts directed during that decade. Of all the Disney shorts directors in the 1940s, Kinney seemed the most aware of timing and, especially, pacing.
